Would You Buy Another Fourth Generation Maxima?

Would You Buy Another Fourth Generation Maxima?
If yes what year/color?
If no what else would you consider?
Reason I ask is because I don't know many other cars that are as reliable and get great gas mileage and adequate horsepower than the Maxima.

Nope. I love my car to death, but always wish I had gotten something sportier. However, as my first car it's something affordable, more powerful than the usual first car choices, it's comfortable, etc.
It's great for me being in high school and being in the northeast with snow a' plenty during the winter, but I doubt I'd buy another.

Yes. I would buy another, but it would be stick. My maxima has left such a good impression on me, my next car will prob be a g35 coupe, and i would like my girlfriend to get a pathfinder. when i get the new car, i plan on keeping the maxima, eventually converting it to a 5 speed and making it turbo

Yes I would buy another one, Stick ofcourse maybe auto but converting it. I would also buy the 5.5 gen max, or a g35 coupe, or import the R34 skyline if I had the money to do any of it.

i want to collect cars lol.
i'm always eyeballing the 3.2 tl's and acura cl's too.

Yes if i can find one like mine, white and 5sp. I love my car and have wanted it ever since my mom bought it new. My next new car or truck i should say will be a Dodge Ram 2500 with the Cummins diesel in it and i will lift the biatch to the sky. Dont get me wrong a G35 or M3 would be nice but there is just something about having enough power to drag both those cars down the street. Plus huge lift, big tires and 4x4

probably, simply because I unfortunatley know the engine bay inside inside and out and I have a hundred or so links to solutions to the common problems from this site. If I get that special dream job after college I'll try to hop into the beloved bmw arena like everyone else and their grandmother.

i guess it all depends WHY you like/have the maxima.

I would like to pick up another 4th gen for my wife. She normally drives a Dodge Caravan but took my Maxima on an 800 mile round trip to Birmingham this last week and really loves it. I would like to find another one like I got that had a motor locked up and was real cheap.

No, i wouldn't get another 4th.
The maxima was the best i could afford and the most reasonable car out there for me when i bought mines.
I would look for either a 5.5 gen. a TL-S the older ones if i'm in the used market. If i'm in the new market i might lean a little towards madza 3 wagon.
But currently i'm eye balling a 2nd-gen mr2 that might be my daily driver.

i think it really depends on your financial situation. of course if i had an extra 50K to spend i'd go w/ an m3. but not everybody is that well off financially. i'd have to say the 4th gen max is usually a great bang for your buck car.
so if i had to get a 4th gen max, i'd get a '95 (because its the lightest) and in white. you can't go wrong w/ the arctic pearl white that came on the 4th gens.

never know...if it does happen i would project it happening in about a year when i am done making payments on the maxima. i'll buy a new ride, pull the maxima off the road and start working on it. the 5 speed could happen soon.

It honestly depends on what is going on in the future. My dream has always been a Z32 300zx for years, and more recently a KA-T 240sx (maybe for the last two years), and I've done my fair share of research in both. Up until a few months ago, I would tell you that I would not sink money into handling mods for my car or any major sum of money on it. However, as my sig shows, I have my suspension sitting in my garage. Also, KA-T's are somewhat risky for someone who isn't experienced in turbocharging, so that may not be a route I take. With that said, stock KA powered 240sx's are slow as ballz.
This has gotten me REALLY excited to own a Maxima (...again). I absolutely can't wait to test out this new suspension. I also will be finally getting a ypipe soon. I also spent some money on a tint (again, something I never thought I would do), but because of it, my car FEELS different. It seems to be picking up it's own personality now more than ever.
I used to cringe at the thought of accelerating from a stop in FWD, and always dreamed of hammering down a RWD gas pedal and imagining what that would feel like. At some point or another, I came to grips with myself, UNDERSTOOD exactly what I had (nonlocking, FWD), and knew what to expect, and in turn, can actually enjoy mashing the pedal these days.
Another thing: I go to college 5-6 hours away from home for me. It helps having the extra room in the car to tote 3-4 people total in my car home, and really cuts down on the gas expenses. Also recently, I have been getting a steady 25-28 mpg highway doing at least 80 mph, so I can't complain in that aspect at all. I can't imagine traveling long distances in a 300zx or 240sx - there's just no room.
If something were to happen to my car, I would look for a 97-99 dark colored (I love to detail and polish) 5 speed SE. I would now be able to accurately access previous accident damage, wear and tear problems, etc. BEFORE buying my car. Also, I would look for ONLY an SE of those years to get the updated steering rack. I am in love, however, with my 96's looks. I know 4G Maximas pretty well now, and so working on the car would be no sweat. A lot of the things that I got hung up on previously wouldn't be a problem.
Bottom line: for the cost, reliability, room, comfort features (depending on model obviously), looks, etc., 4G Maximas can't be beat. I'm still proud to spew of the 0-60 times for the 95 Maxima...
