If youre getting a code for it I would suggest replacing it. I beleive it's located just under the belts, easy replacement. 10mm bolt.

C) 120 degree signal cycle excessively changes during engine running.

Possible causes...
- Harness or connectors
- Crankshaft Position Sensor (REF)
- Starter motor
- Starting system circuit

Perhaps a marginal starter would crank the engine at a non-uniform rate (fast-slow-fast-slow) and disrupt the normal rhythm of pulses from the CPS. This is consistent with the starter motor problems you have recently reported.

Near crank pully. Remove bolt. Undo connector. Install new one. Clear codes. Nuff said.

I would go to a local parts store for this, that way if it's the wrong one you can take it back. The sensor you are looking for is the cheaper one of the 2, Around $50 I think. It's tucked behind the belts, take off the splash gaurd on the passenger side of your car and you should see it bolted right into the side of the engine.
