Is it easier to put a 3.5 in a 4th gen or 5th gen

is it easier to put a 3.5 in a 4th gen 5 speed or a 5th gen 5speed?

both cars have a 5 speed trans

all I would be doing is buy a 3.5 longblock and use the stock transmission from which ever car I pick to do thw swap on

I would think 5th gen is easier because the 3.5 conversion needs parts from your car (timing chain cover, etc.). The 5th gen is almost the same motor as the 4th, making me think it would be hundreds less than a 3.5 conversion.

Both equally as hard. Get an 02+ if you are looking to buy another car...

You will be spending 1000dollars to install a new engine. Might as well spend 2-3k more and get the car with better ECU, headlights, looks, ect...

How would it be easier? The 00-01 is still set up for a VQ30, so you'd still have to do all the same things to make a 3.5 work.

IMO it wouldn't be worth it unless there is something sentimental to you about that car. Buying a 2k2 would be the wise choice.

Damn dude you need to use some logic. Just because you got it for that doesnt mean everyone will. Not all of have a brother that will do the install for us

I got my 00vi for free, did everyone else? NO! So should I post my price for the 00vi or the average price?

I can see why you got banned too, for StephenMax.

Thought thread was asking which is easier to install in a 4th gen,3.5 or 5th gen motor, my mistake.

i am using logic. its called an auction. you go there and buy cars.

and who said they got a oovi for free? go ahead and post how much you got yours for but that would be irelevant because prices vary. and alot of people have somebody else do work o ntheir car.

and stephenMax, that another story which i am not goign to go into or I mgiht get banned again when there isnt even a reason for it.

Difficulty level for the vq35 for the 4th gen and 5th gen are pretty much the same.

Which one is it worth doing it to, is another thread all together.

decide which body style you like better and do the swap with that. Once you do the swap, the car will lose quite a bit of value except to someone on the org that appreciates it. IMO, I'd use a cheaper 4th gen and swap it

DONE.... agreed.. checkmate... and all that good stuff...

and yes it would loose value (unless sold to orger who sees value or other car enthusists)... the more a car is modded the less the value becomes for the average buyer... when i look for a car i was something driven by a grandma at 40mph all the time.. not something that has been pushed to redline on a daily basis...

swapped cars need more care.... and also more attention.... things can go wrong and there are little qwirks only the person who did the install will know...

that is soo not true. cars that had a swap done to them and if it was done right are just like regular cars. vsamoylov he has no problems with his max and he has been driving for a while. both of my maximas i never experienced any problems at all either.
