Air Bag Light

Okay, first off, I really hope this is in the right forum, and I apologize if it has been covered - I did not see it in the FAQ though.

My air bag light in my 99 blinks constantly. The dealership told me it is the driver's side side-impact bag that is the problem, but I do not want to give them $425 to fix it. Is there a way I can make it stop blinking anyway?

that seems like it would be more work than just fixing the airbag.

Mine flashes and I tried to do the cheap route of just trying to reset it, but didn't work. Someone suggested to me to put electrical tape on the backside of the instrument panel where it shines through. That way you can still pass inspection. Course now I've gotten used to it flashing...

It might be the sensor. I would have that checked first before anything else.

If the bag isn't working or the system sees a fault with it, replace the bag.
