spoiler detatchment
spoiler detatchment
The bump in my trunkhas begun to shake my spoiler loose. the two outer attatchments (plastic plug sort of things i guess is the word?) have seperated from the trunk completely. im woried about two things 1) my entire spoiler falling off and 2) leakage in my trunk caused by the broken seal and the detatchment... what should i do to fix it?
I recently found myself in the same situation. I replaced all the clips/gromets/spacers because they were all taking a beating from the subs and the weather. The rediculous dealer price ~ $80. Subs without that annoying rattle ~ Priceless
Hello nad819:
I appreciate you providing the diagram of the spoiler. I have to remove my spoiler and reseal the bolt openings because I think I am getting water in the trunk and it shorted out my trunk switches. When you pull off the trunk lid liner, you can immediately see the four mounting studs/nuts for the center part of the poiler. On your diagram, I can see two more on each end, but can't tell if they are clips or actual studs and nuts. Since you have taken this all apart before, I assume you have to remove the inner taillights to get a better look. Before I remove these, I need to know whether the ends of the spolier have nuts I can simply seal up and tighten or if I need to purchase some special clips from dealer like you mentioned in your above reply. If they are clips and mine are simply loose, can I just seal them up tight or do they snap in tight somehow? Any additional info would be great.
Thanks!!!

Thanks everyone!!
I purchased the clips and grommets from everythingnissan.com at a discount:
clip part # 01553-04631 list price$3.53
grommet part # 01553-09621 list price $1.61
total price for the spoiler clips: $20.56 plus shipping. They charge a standard $7.96 shipping fee up to a certain weight, so I purchased the strut mount bearings and a relay to make it worth while.
Just replaced everything this past wknd and even used black rtv to seal up the grommet holes and spoiler stud holes. Let everything cure and then went to the car wash and used the pressure washer (lightly) to check for leaks. None found, so good to go!!
If anyone needs these parts to repair their rattling spolier, contact Dan at everythingnissan.com and he is great to work with.
