i saw this harness+over wattage bulbs on ebay:

If i install these on my car, will my alternator be able to support the extra wattage since stock low beam is only 45 watts compared to these 80 watt low beam bulbs?

also will these overwattage bulbs damage my headlight housing in anyway?

You have glass so im assuming you're safe.. I knew a few members here are running overwatted bulbs..

I'd be careful of splashing cold water on ur headlight if its on because it _could_ crack.

i have the nokya stage II bulbs 100w/120w. been running it with the wiring harness for about a year and a half now no problems. never heard of the headlight cracking, but hey if it does, time for cefiros. i've heard stories of the sockets melting, but tahts because of stock wiring.

hoenstly, don't expect the greatest lighting youve seen in your life. stick to stock. i got mine because my bulbs blew out, and its pretty dim sometimes driving through rain.

You can't see much with tinted bulbs, go HID!

I was just thinking about just buying that from ebay and use only the harness and buy the overwattage bulbs seperately.

Now you re making me question about the quality of the harness.....

If the existing harness can't take the upgraded wattage, the simple way to fix that would be to install a pair of ordinary headlight relays somewhere near the lamps. Use the existing high beam wire to energise the relay coil, and run a heavy-duty cable rated at 20 amps from the B+, via an inline 30A fuse, to the relay contact. Then the other side of the contact via 20A cable to both headlight high-beam connections. Similar arrangement for the low beams. Cost you about $15 in relays and about $5 in cable. Simple.
