I've done some of my own chops and the Max wouldn't look half-bad as a 2-door. It's the roofline that's the problem mainly, but even with the original roofline it looked OK. That's a lot of work though...lots of custom glass, custom doors, custom interior door panels, custom extension of the quarter panels, etc.

Not to mention our interior is setup for 4 doors...I think that if the car were a 2-door and you sat back a little farther I would feel like I was a mile away from the steering wheel.

I remember something about someone hacking a Jetta and it looked pretty wild. Ive also seen pics of a Chopped SRT-4 but cant tell whether its photoshoped or not. Interesting idea and would deffinelty win points originality.

The two door Jetta you guys speak of is best viewed on that of the vwvortex.com website. Dubbed "Project X". I remember when I first viewed this, it was like something that should have been done to most four-door cars for quite awhile. Since I have obtained my Maxima, I have actually been seriously wanting to do such a thing as those guys over at VWV. Here is the link :

Yeah, I've been watching the different cars arriving at school in the morning and comparing the lines to my Max. I noticed that the BMWs and the Jettas look very clean and well organised around the wheel arches. They both have a good flare on the arch, rather than the cheap-looking little sill ours have.
It's weird how people seem to have different ways of doing things these days. When I was heavily into custom & restoration work, I never considered lowering a car to clean up the looks of the wheel arches. Instead, I'd use my oxy-acetylene torch to braze additional steel in, finishing it with glass and filler, so as to flare the arches and deepen them. This was also needed because the wider tyres would usually extend beyond the arch and that is illegal in England. Of course here in Mexico nobody bothers about such small items... when I get the time I'll try that on the Max (using Photoshop of course) to see how it looks.

I saw a mid 90s Caddy Fleetwood Brougham that was converted to two doors. Tons of fabrication both structural and cosmetic (frame & sheetmetal).

It would not be the same without 4. Like 4 door Skylines they just do not seem the same.

That's just because we're used to seeing the 2-doors. In most parts of the world that actually got them, it was a lot more 4-doors.

The doors go a little too far back. The front seats appear to be too far back as well. It almost seems like the driverseat is far back into the rear seat area. Looks like something that Shaq would drive.

2 dr maxima defeats the whole purpose. One of the reasons I bought a Maxima was because it has 4 doors.

Personnaly I'd prefer a Max with RWD than one with just two doors. Reminds me of all the fools out there sticking 30 inch exhust pipes on their '89 Sentra's.
