bosch platinums any good?
bosch platinums any good?
just wondering if the above plugs are decent compared to the OEM NGKs for my '95 max?
EDIT; just wanted some sympathy, for that i hit a buck way taller than my car. Damage: hood, Rt. headlight, windshield, side mirror, and door. just about cried.

I've had my OEM NGK platinum plugs since day 1 and the car runs like a champ. They were taken out last March and cleaned on a wheel.
I'll replace them one of these days with the identical plugs - no coppers for me.
I'm sure I'll get flamed, but I passed emissions testing in December with no problem and my fuel economy is as good as its ever been and there is absolutely no miss or hesitation at WOT.

i think either one would be more. Moreover your own preference. The difference would be minor i doubt you would notice. Price and avalibility would matter i guess.
Ive used both for years, havent had a prob with either.

Bosch plugs
Personally, I have experienced nothing but problems with the Bosch +4 plugs in my MAX. I put them in when they first came out. I almost had to have the car towed after driving about 20 miles. Driveability problems. Same with a friends Hyundai and an Accord. Still wailting for my refund from BOSCH and they are located only about 6-7 miles from home. Chicago burbs. I personally would go with the NGK plats (yes they are pricey - NAPA carries them, discounted and even more if you are a AAA member) or you can try the NGK copper less than $2.00 each also at NAPA. The Plats last 50,000 to 60,000 miles. I have heard about 25,000 on the copper. Shouldn't take more than about 30-35 mins to change them. No problems with the coppers that I put in about 10,000 miles ago. I have 190,000 miles on my MAX. NGK seem to work best in anything from Japan. Don't waste your time and money on the others.
i had a set of the bosch plats that i took out some time ago and was thinking i did so prematurely. so before cleaning/reinstalling, i wanted to get opinions on them. in the end, time was a limiting factor, so i went to checker and bought NGK cheapos that have a "V" groove in the electrode. time will tell for sure if i made a bad plug choice, i think.
