?!Clutch Push Button?!
I have a question. When the clutch is pressed, i noticed that there are two push buttons under the dash, by the clutch. When i press the clutch 1 push button switch pops out and when the clutch is fully pressed down, it pushes another push button switch in. What are these two for? Which one is for the car to start? If you need further explanation, let me know. Thanks

The clutch interlock switch is the one on the engine side. I believe this is the one verified when starting the engine.
The cruise cancel switch is the one on the drivers side of the pedal assembly.

Yeah, one is to prevent engine starting without the clutch depressed, and the other is to cancel the cruise control as soon as you tap the clutch (otherwise the engine could rev to redline).

I'm pretty sure some pros do remote start for 5-speeds and they have some way to make it know whether the car is in neutral or not, and only start the car if it is in neutral. There was a big remote start thread a while back.

Whoever installed yours should be shot for leaving it like that. Its unsafe and not good practice.

Nonetheless your cousin should learn how to do it Right AND Safely.

Is it safe to get 20% tints(god forbid a black car with no headlights is coming to t-bone you and you happen to be in a place w/ poor lighting)
Is driving over 55/65 safe(you could get a blow out and lose control. You could also get pulled over, get so many tickets, arrive late to work, get fired, not have any money to pay your rent, get your house repo'd, be stranded on the street w/ your family, have your son get sick cause of the cold weather and die!!!!)
Things/actions are only as safe as the person practicing them. I have had my cars done like this for years now and have never had a problem. Can you make it safe for me for free? If so, I would be more than happy to bring it to you.

Its not the point, when it is possible to do something safely, that should be common practice. All it takes is one time for anyone to leave that car in gear. DOesnt have to be you, even someone just reaching in bumps it and you have a problem.
Would I do it for free? No sorry I would not. If you were one of my customers and you were getting a remote start, then yes it would be included. No offense intended here, but I do run a business and free just doesnt fit into my schedule. With the exception of alot of close friends and family. Although I would be more than happy to explain to you or your cousin how to do this properly. Being that he already installed the remote start I would think it wouldnt be that difficult for him to go back in a change a few things.

I've been meaning to figure this out but have been a little lazy, and im scared that if some noob messes with my remote and starts the car its gonna jump forward if left in gear.
