5th Gen Auto Trans?

Can a 5th gen Auto Trans fit in our cars? What about 5.5 gen? If so is there anything special to make it work like a passenger side axle or something similar? Also while im looking for a new transmisson will the LSD make that big\noticable difference?

Yes the 5th gen auto will drop right in. If you get an LSD, atleast one of the alxes has to be a special LSD axle.

I have a 2k1 auto trans for sale with vlsd if you are interestd, pm me.

Why not just get a 96-99 I30 VLSD auto they are all over ebay around 500?
Are there any gains by getting a 5th/5.5 gen trans or 96-99 I30 VLSD trans?, they are both limited slip, different ratios? I am just wondering what would be a "better" selection for performance? Anyone who knows...thanks

I am not sure which side requires an LSD axle, you would have to look into that. As for the difference between the older I30 trannys and the 5th gen AE trannys, I was told that the 2k1 5th gen auto had a stronger valve body than the previous autos, not sure if that includes the I30 trans.
