code P0133

i just got the code P0133 and found out that it means " the response time for oxygen sensor 1 in bank 1 was too slow during testing" my question is that can i just reset the ecu and forget about this code because i don't have the money right now to replace the oxygen sensor. also, on average how long does an oxygen sensor last on our car before it goes? thanks for your help btw, my car is a 98 with 80,xxx miles.

80K Miles...You were overdue for an O2 sensor. I am surprised that it had lasted that long. I had to replace my O2 sensor and all six coil packs at 65K.
If you are at 80K miles, you are going to see some other issues soon. The O2 sensor was just the beginning for me. What else have you done to your max?

you can reset the ecu, but its still bad so what good will it do you, its gonna keep popping back up, wash a couple cars, mow some lawns, make $80 and buy a new 02 sensor
