Do I test the fuel injectors, if so how?

Any idea's i would appreciat it.

Whats the logical process of elimination?

 

Step #1 - Purchase a shop manual.
Step #2 - Follow the trouble shooting guide
Step #3 - Identify your problem
Step #4 - Repair or replace problem item
Step #5 - Enjoy the ride once again.

There are many things that can cause a lean condition like that.
We cannot guess from your posts whats wrong with your car.
You have to trouble shoot it.

 

Are you talkin about a haynes manual?

First easy and inexspensive thing to do is CHANGE YOUR FUEL FILTER.

 

changed the fuel filter about 6 months ago. Is there a way to test the fuel injectors?

I will look for a manual on ebay.

 

Manual is about 20 bucks at local parts store. Haynes manual # 72021

other than the injectors, it might be a simple air leak. Get about 3 feet of quarter inch rubber air tubing. hold one end to your ear and use the other to 'sniff' around the inlet manifold, PCV etc, to see if you detect a telltale sound of air leaking in. (while the engine is ticking over, needless to say... )
