battery terminals

I looked at our battery terminals and well it looks as if there is a slot for a fuse or something there? Not sure, it was cold out and i just took a quick looking.

I'm planning on upgrading my postive and negative terminals and possibly the cables going to B+ to starter and others. Anyone have a site that i can get some neat terminals. I've some terminals show battery voltage and other terminals looking fancy, i wanted to get something to add a little more custom look to my battery. Since i'm going for the red top optima. I figure i might as well do terminals and cables too.

Also would i have any problems removing my stock terminals and putting in an aftermarket cable?

I've got

waiting to go on my yellow top when the weather gets nice and I rewire from 4 to 0 to support new mid/high setup. Got it from Cardomain.

the negative cable is easy, it runs from the battery, to the chassis, then to the head. the positive is a bit more tricky. the large wire runs directly to the starter, then 2 smaller wires (which have fusible links) run to the fuse box beteen the fender and battery. its kind of a pain to get to those wires, but they screw right into the fuse box, kind of like a power wire and amp.

So if i get an after market postive side wire, it problay wont work as a unbolt and bolt thing would it. I couldn't see much of the postive cable becuase it was wraped in black tape.

Part of the reason why i wanted to get new postive and negative terminal and cables was my old battery leaked and later turned into like greenish blue powder stuff. It got to all over the postive terminal and looked like some of the cable. Not sure if it did any internal corrsion on the postive or negative cable but i rather be safe then sorry in the long run. The car starts up fine and what not but i don't want to have a battery cable cause me not to be able to start up my car in the morning.

i ended up upgrading all the positive and negative wires that means the fuse box, and the starter wire. Also upgraded the ground wires as well as adding a 0 gauge ground to the chassis of the car. VERY carefully cut the connector out of the starter wire once its removed slice the tape with a razor just make sure you dont damage the wire with the starter connector on it

Hm... looks interesting. I actually want my setup to be something like that. I don't run any audio stuff but i just wanted to replace it with the same type of setup you have. Problay just mainly the basic stuff.

For the starter cable, shouldn't you just loosen the bolt that holds the starter cable off and replace. Did you do anything with the fusible links on the OEM wire?

Once the weather gets better i'ma take a good look the cables so i can start replacing the cables.

take the plastic cover off the terminals :] The terminals will fit most jumper cable clamps
