It's not doable. They are not WELDED.. plastic can't be welded. They are molded that way and it takes alot of work to open them and to do the mod.

They can't just be cleared. The way people made them was by taking all clear taillights (I believe made by APC, though I may be wrong) and painting the bottom half red. I do know that all clears were discontinued, but can occasionally be found on ebay. Custom Enterprise sells red/clears, but they are overpriced and don't look that good IMO.

So your options pretty much are either Custom Enterprise or try to find a set of all clears or DavidL's on ebay or in the classifieds.

yea... it IS doable, just really hard. hrm... well maybe i'll just put up with the yellowness... damn. i mean i've already purchased a second set of OEM tails, i was hopin to clear them myself. i don't wanna buy anything else, especially not the ones from CE cuz i'm gonna do LED tails, and there's no way i'm gonna rip apart their tails. i don't think they look that great either, they had a ton of fitment issues blah blah blah. well that sucks, so DavidL just bought already cleared out lights and just painted the bottom red? well that explains it all. thanks guys.

What? no, it's not doable. you can't clear out the stock 95-96 tails. end of story. the orange part is not a seperate piece like in the 97-99. the only way is to get all clears and pain in the red.

Use a hair dryer, heat gun or hot water, and some patience.

I never mentioned anything about the how-to's... there are plenty of other sources of information in this site.

But he was asking about the how-to's...

But anyway, where did you find this information? To be honest, I couldn't find anything either. I wanted to do this myself on my '95, but only found 97-99 info. If you have some spare time, I'd really appreciate it if you could respond with some links. Thanks

Vin Diesel has the most l33t plastic welding skills but he's so hot that when he gets close enough to work with the plastic, it's already melted.
