I need help removing my intake manifold

It am having to replace my valve cover gaskets on my '96 max SE.
I have disconnected a whole bunch of stuff and feel like I am pretty close but I think there is one more bolt or some thing holding the back side of the intake closest to the throtle body on becasue when I pull on the intake it is piviting in that area. I have removed three bolds so far from the back side where you can't see. Does anyone else know if there are more bolts or where a write up is on this project might be. I need to get my maxima back on the road by tomorrow. Your help is appreciated.

Maybe it's just stuck in there? How did you know the gaskets needed replaced?

Its probably your EGR bolts....they are behind/under the TB in the back of the manifold...theres 2 of them.

Yeah on the back side there's the IACV, then below it is the egr and the two coolant lines under that are usually what you won't notice.

Get a flashlight and look behind/under the UIM from the drivers side fender...this will help you see what we're taking about.

You are rightl. It was the EGR bolts. Seems I got one of them blindly feeling around and found the other with a flashlight and mirror. There was another vacuum hose under the intake after I got the EGR disconnected. That too was a pain in the butt to remove.

I'm pretty sure this is what I need to be doing although I expected to see a lot more oil up high than I did once I got the rear valve cover off. The car has been leaking oil for the last few weeks and I can't see anything obvious from the bottom. The leak looks like it is coming from up higher on the motor so I assume it was the valve cover. The gaskets were no longer pliable and I assume the rear had never been tightened because it is such a pain in the butt to get to. I was also getting somer residue around the intake gasket so I figured I could kill two birds with one stone.

I have code 0302 tripped that says I either have too much EGR flow or not enough air flow. What do I need to clean while I have all this apart?

Here's a thread on EGR cleaning. I haven't done it myself and don't have time to search further right now. Good luck.

Thanks guys. I can see the EGR pipe.
Can I spray carb cleaner directly down it or do I need to remove it to clean it?

Either way...I would go ahead and just take it off though.

Perfect timing for this thread. I have a oil leak and I'm going to try and replace that egr tube. Is that tube hard to replace? I'm ordering all the gaskets next week. Is is better to clean the egr tube or just replace it. I think it cost around $30.
