Air Bag Light Flashing
Check one of the stickeys. My light went oon last year when it snowed and I used the technique in the stickey and turned it off. But it went on again on Sunday after the snow storm and I tried the same thing it didn't turn off.
I read something in the stickies about resetting the light. I t had to do with pushing the driver's door switch like 5 times in 7 seconds or something and then starting the car. If it is just a weird fault it will go away. If it stays on you need the airbag system looked at by a professional.
From the Stickeys
How to reset SRS(air bag) light
Open the driver's door. Note the rubber covered button located low on the B pillar, a button which is pressed by the door when the door is closed. This is the Driver's Door Switch (DDS).
Turn the ignition from OFF to ON. Press the DDS at least 5 times within 7 seconds after turning the ignition switch ON. Turn the ignition OFF. Close the driver's door. Start the engine.
If the airbag warning lamp is still on (or still flashing), there is a fault in the Supplemental Restraint System which must be diagnosed and repaired. This is a job for your local friendly Nissan dealer.

Hey guys just to add up a little more info on that airbag light. One reason for the air bag light to turn on is if your battery drops under a certain voltage. It will set a fault.
To the OP, why would you check the engine codes for an airbag light? Its a completely diffrent system. And you don't have that yellow brick that nissan uses. Its just about the only thing you can use to pull and clear airbag codes and also ABS codes. Check engine light is on a diffrent system then your ABS and your airbags.

when I bought my car someone had disconnected the light from the gauge cluster, it was just dangling behind it, something I would have never found it I didn't tap into the TAM screw for the mevi lol. Its just on constantly, no flashing, ever.

I have put a new battery in and put the air bag light in diaganoisis mode and got a 2 long and 2 short flash on the light. Can anyone help me to figure out what the problem is. Does it take time for the computer to realize that I have changed the battery? Someone help!!!
Well um.. after you replace the battery you have to reset the light. It took me a couple of resets to get the light off. I figured i did it too fast or too slow.
When i posted about the battery voltage, i didn;t mean for you to go out and get a new battery. You could of just checked the battery's voltage during cranking.
