trouble starting

So its been somewhat cold up here in new hampshire lately, and almost everytime i start my car the brake and battery light are on till it gets really warmed up. And then this morning I went to start it and it started up fine and i went back inside to let it run for a little, the battery and brake light were on...but when i came back out my radio was off and the car was idling at around 400rpm, so i go to give it a little gas and it just dies and then wouldnt even come close to starting back up. So when i got home from school, it was a little warmer, tried to start it and it started right up and ran fine. what do you think wouldve caused this?

when those 2 lights come on, its a sign of the charging system not doing its job...cold weather would affect this because of the battery's CCA's..id start off with the simple stuff(getting the battery checked out) then moving onto the alternator, etc..its really an easy fix

starting

I just bought a 95 maxima with 171000 miles on it and it runs awesome. but when i leave it overnight in the cold chicago weather it takes a couple times to start. I just bought this car a couple days ago. I wonder if this is just because of the weather.

Have u had any luck yet with it?
