97 only starts sometimes

Posting for a friend, 1997 max with 151000 is having problems starting once in a while, replaced the battery but when its warm it wont crank at all, just click, then after waiting 5 mins or so it starts up. all the lights are on and everything, the battery is new so im thinking the starter locking up, need a new one?

New starter, new ignition switch, or bad grounds.

I work at autozone, thats not a bad idea except i've seen where the starter is on my 2k1, i'm guessing its in the same place, is it hard to pull on a 97?

Check the wire from the starter to the battery.
Check the ground from the front of the block to the battery.

If he replaced the battery and the wires are fine, then it can only be the starter/solenoid is on its way out, pull it out and have it tested.

same prob. replace started. no problem. it's on the "top" of the engine, right under the intake plumbing.

if i remember correct, one of the bolts has a large metric head that takes a bunch of torque to break...
