Bi-Xenons & DRL

Anyone do a retrofit on a Max with Daylight running lights?

I have no probs dealing with low-beams cutting off
when the high-beams are flashed but I have no idea
what to do with the DRL module feeding low-voltage
to high-beams. Any ideas?

What would happen if the DRL unit is disabled?
Looking at FSM electrical diagrams that unit feeds a lot
wires.

can't you just wire it so your low beam hid is always on.

all canadian-market-made cars MUST have drl since...1992, if i'm not mistaken

on the 1993 canadian ford probe, the drl were the fogs lights since the headlights are retractable

requirements fo DRL

What are the requirements to pass as DRLs? is there a certain brightness (lumens, Cds or Watts) and is there a height requirement? It would be nice to make fogs DRL and get a insc reduction.

I am wondering if somehting like this would work

i don't think so, drl should come off from the headlights, low beam is fine but your tails always on extra load on your alt. witch is bad i think

As someone mentioned Fogs as DRL are fine. Audi's and a number of other cars use that method.

I'm gonna pull the DRL fuse and see if that still leaves the high/low beam function work normally but without the low-voltage feed to high-beam line.
If that works I will figure out something else to replace DRL.

BTW, anybody do a retrofit with 2005 Maxima E55's Bi-Xenons?

I just got a pair and what insane color at just 8 feet. The projectors have
a top shield along with regular bottom shield arm (which cuts the light output a bit) but gives off this insane purple/blue color at cutoff.

Can't wait to put them into the Max.

Thanks. I am using 6 LEDs in this setup and it only uses 0.65 Watts. I am still playing around with focusing and brightness. I will post more pics once I get both sides finished.

I think all the Candian vehicles MUST have DRL as 1 of their standard features.
