Anyone painted their needles?

I'm getting 194 LED lights for my gauges and I'm just wondering if anyone has taken off their needles and painted them.
I was thinking red. But I might go with green needles to match the interior and my soon to be instaleld hu. Any thoughts?

Why not change the color of the needle's lights?

You could sand the needles down CAREFULLY then replace lights with leds.

well, since you have a 98 SE, don't you already have red needles? But if you're planning on geting rid of the red.....I heard people usea Sharpie/marker to color the underside of the needle. Or, for a less hack approach, by some hobby-quality transparent paint in the color of your choosing. I personally would go with what 99grnmaxgxe said; it's cleaner, gives a brighter light, AND, it doesn't involve messing with the calibration of the needles (which is the case when you take out the needles)

I did another thread for that but I dont know enough about LED's, so replacing the stock bubls with 194 LED's will give a close effect. Figured I'd just paint the needles to see if it worked. If it doesnt produce the effect I want I can always add more LED's for the needles.
