another starting question.....

I am constantly having problems starting my car lately. When I turn the key I get absoulutley nothing ... no clicking or stalling... just silence. Then after a few or sometimes several tries it startslike normal. I figured it was the ignition switch so I tried a new one and I'm still having the problems. Last time I had battery, ignition, starter issues I always had clicking noises from the fuses but now I have nothing....I really doubt it is battery or alternator as power is now the issue.....any suggestions?

What you describe sounds like the ignition switch again.
Was it a new unit you put in or a used one?

i was having a similar problem with my friends car. some times it wouldn't start, but then if i put it in to neutral then it would start, in his car its something weird with the gear select inhibitor switch thing. so try changing between park and neutral, see if that helps

starter solenoid?
Test it by making a temporary connection to the solenoid bypassing the ignition switch. If the starter turns, the solenoid is fine and it must be looked for elsewhere like some good people already suggested above.

The ignition switch was brand new so isn't that....I guess it most likely is the selenoid....wouldn't u still get clicking however from the fuses if it was starter related?

Does your security light come on when you insert the key and turn it to the ON position? If so, then you had the same problem I had which is the ECM is busted.
