97 a/c compressor vs 95 model

My a/c compressor just locked up on my 95GLE. It is so frozen the motor shut off!! I have a new 97 model A/c compressor on a prts car I have. I have not removed it yet but they look similar. Anyone know the general and big difference between the two. Are they compatable at all? I would love to save the 424$ on the part and use the one I have. Plus I have to buy a reciever drier and a condensor all at once. Chime in if you are positive you know the difference. Thanks

I think it should fit. Replaced mine on a 96 last year. I did not buy a drier or condensor and mine works good. Not as cold as it used to be but it will keep you comfy. You will have to have the system pumped free of air however.

The 95-96 show differnet uses per production date. However when you order one at Nissan they show the same part #. But the 97 show a different part# all together. As far as the reciever drier you have to change tehm in order to retain the warantee. Also mine had a pinhole leak in it and the drier is junk. One reason yours may not be working as well as it did before, the desacent instantly pulls moisture fromt he air and will dump it into the freon when you are using the system. I always replace them when I put on a compressor. Thanks for the input.

They will not fit...the fittings on the 95 and the 97 are different. I can't remember which one...but I do know that they are different.

So can the distribution block be changed between the 2 or maybe just a high pressure line?

Man...if I remembered I would tell you...its been quite some time, the only way to know is to check...since you have both, do a side by side comparison
