EGR Cleaning

This may or may not be posted already but, I have the 0302 code (i think) for "low or excessive egr flow". Does that mean the egr valve is stuck or can I clean it out? EGR valve is like $200 bucks and it really does nothing as far as effecting engine performance so is it worth cleaning or replacing? Please help.

The standard repair is to clean it, not replace it. Dealer will likely charge $200-300 to do the job.

I had this code for almost a month, EGR valve is not the problem, problem turned out to be (for me at least!) was Egr solenoid valve, others on the forum cleaned out their entire Egr related tubes, and that did the trick, I would first replace this part (easy replacement) first to see if the code goes away..here a some previous posts relating to this code:

EGR are does have an important role in Engine performance. Hot unburned exhaust gases need to be utilized to the the fullest to get better mileage and performance. EGR helps to keeps your engine and exhaust temp within optimum temp, so its good to have a working EGR

Yeah, I've got this code now and priced a EGR valve at $103 at Pinnacle nissan. I ordered the small egr guide tube and bunch of stuff to replace the rear valve cover gasket for an oil leak. I'm going to try and clean my way out of this one first. I might end up replacing the egr valve anyway.
