Trunk question

How does one remove the tension bars for the trunk? You know the things that keep the trunk lid up when its open?

Your trunk will not open when you use popper on the keyfob and on the door. You'll have to start using the key and pulling up hard on the spoiler for it to open. The bars cause the opening of the trunk to be quick and easy. They produce counter weight on the arms of the trunk to force it up as you pull it up

Bend them a little. I had removed my bars then I put them back in because I was going to put hood struts in there but decided against it in the end.

Just bend them apart. You don't need alot of force to do that.

I used a piece of heavy duty foam (black stuff) and put a piece between the bars. Used electrical tape to secure. Yah it's getto but it worked.

Hey don't worry about ghetto. I have actually stuffed rags in some spots to get the rattles to stop. Those darn A-pillars are now very quiet .

I'm sure his trunk rattles a TINY bit, but when he gets his SE-R (hint hint, Juan, go test drive the 6 spd SE-R and you will be in love) I'm sure he'll deaden it to death lol.

My trunk is actually pretty quiet, but I still get a little rattle when turned up loud. Probably just some paneling though. If you are standing outside, and the windows are closed, it sounds pretty quiet. The small rattles are only heard from the inside. I have used a bunch of Dynamat on the trunk floor, some on the side panels (wherever I could stick it), and a good amount on the trunk lid. All this did make a very noticeable difference. I have already done the front doors as well. I still have some left to do the rear doors at a later time .

I would love to get that ride Parag, it is just a room issue with the kids and all. Funny thing is that I was discussing that issue with my wife earlier today. Your SE-R is one sweet ride, now you just need to get that CD7000 put in there . Oh and I know your saying no sub, but in time you will come around .

You sure you couldnt fit a coupla kids in the back? It is an amazing car man.... amazing.... i love it. They are VERY quick, and absolutely gorgeous... Either way, I'm sure you'll make the right decision.

As far as audio goes, PROBABLY cd7000/cd5000 + germaniums powered by the arc amp and then possibly a set of coax in the rear doors, and leave the stock 6x9 subs in the rear deck powered off the stock amp

My mod for a while was my vice-grip. I finally paid around $40 dollars for a pair at Pepboys. No lifetime warranty anymore, but I don't care. Man I will never go back to my vice-grip mod .
