Bye Bye 4th Gen :(

Well last week I traded in my 1999 maxima for a 2006 3.5 se Altima. Sad to to see her go but it was time. Just funny how you put hours and hours of lador and pain into a car and then be able to take everything out in about 5 hours. I will still be around on the board and attend local meets to me. Peez.

The newer Altimas and Maximas seem to blend into one another. Just the altima has its lame 2.5 variant

Yeah, I didn't know there was even a site for Maxima owners. I saw it from one of the MySpace group.

I actually like the new altimas better then the maxima's. The maximas look to high end, and I couldn't own one because I'd be afraid I'd mess it up lol. Good choice, and thats probably the best color IMO, gotta love the dark grey. Shines up like black does, but stays clean looking like white does lol

The new Maximas don't look too high end, they cost too high-end for what they're worth and drive like boats. The Altima/G35/350Z are the only worthwhile cars from Nissan these days.

Good job on the purchase, the 06 3.5SE is one of the few Nissans still worthwhile. Is it stick or auto? We have an 05 3.5S(don't think this is an option in the US but it's basically a 2.5S with the 3.5, no leather, power seats, and all the other useless options).

I looked it up. The S and the Se are the same besides the country they are in. I did get the 5 spd. I would of loved the 6spd but this will do. I must say I never have a car that pulled so hard in 5th gear.

Congrats on the new ride!! Actually I would rather have the 5 speed instead of the 6 speed. 6th gear is just a crusier gear anyway. Besides, you end up in the same drive ratio. There was a thread on that comparing the two. You also got that better independent rear suspension which is loads better than the old solid beam. I drove a 3.5 Altima 5 speed when they first came out and was doing 90 before I knew it. Great exhaust note

Yes it is a 5spd. 5th gear pulls hard also.

Yes it does have the 350z exhaust note.

The suspension is awesome. I had my 4th gen completely done for suspension and this altima is right up there with the maxima

As for trade in. I got only 3000$. I had 140k on the maxima. But I kept is super well maintained and clean. I did strip almost everything I had in the car. So check the for sale thread in Northeast for the items I am selling.

This is the more popular 3.5 swap.

Congrats on the car, enjoy the new ride and new car smell.

Thanks Aaron for posting those pics up.

Yes I will be doing lil mods for now. The first will be the Ser or gunmetal tails. I hate the whole chrome thing going on back there. Then from there IDk. I know that Custom Enterprise is looking into making so poducts in the future. So I can't wait for that.

Not really. The spoiler is going on mid- March. I didn't want Bose system. Bose makes it hard to install aftermarket. I got everything I really wanted. 3.5 V6 and a 5 spd. It has all the typical bells and whistles.

Congrats

In my opinion, I like the 3.5 altima without the spoiler. Give it some time to sink in. Then decide. I love the color. Hard to find a 3.5, let alone a 5-speed. I have an 2002 3.5 5-speed altima. It has every option except a spoiler. At first I wanted one, but now I am really liking it without it. My buddies are saying the same thing. True sleeper. 17" wheels almost give it away. Have fun being a stoplight king. My wife killed a V6 mustang that thought it was hot S**t the other day in ours. You should have seen his face at the next light.

You will love the car. If you keep it under 75 mph, you will get 30 mpg consistantly on the highway.

Enjoy.

WoW!! 30 mpg?? I have about 900 miles on it and have not gone over 21.5 mpg. I would love to get 30mpg. I figure it will take sometime to wear in.

As for the spoiler thing. It will be going on the car. I had it added into the payment of the car. Got me a better deal. I wanted the car with it. To bad it didn't have it on the car when I got it. The car does haul a** though. I would say the exhaust gives it away as a sleeper though.
