noise from coilovers
noise from coilovers
after i installed kyb agx shocks/struts w/ ground control coilovers i noticed that everytime the car is parked and i turn the wheel it makes a noise....sounds like the whole spring is moving a way that it shouldnt be moving.....this noise goes away while im driving faster.....anyone know what could be causing this?? thanks
With the ground controls, its a pain in the a$$ to not break the strut bearings. Make sure they are seated properly BEFORE you lower the car. I have snapped 3 strut bearings throughout the coarse of owning my GC/AGX setup. They have a tendancy to either just not seat themselves properly (and make wierd noises) or just break.
What i like to do, is get some grease and put some on the top of the strut bearing, sandwitch it to the top of the strut mount so it sticks in its proper position. Then slowly drop the car so that everything sits the way its suposed to.
I do this pretty much every time i lift up my car, whenever i forget i seam to break em....arghhh....damn ground controls..

the strut bearing is what pushes down on the spring when the car is lowered right??? maybe i put it together wrong, i got the coilovers in pieces so i had to put it together and i dont know maybe i put something on wrong, its on the front drivers side tho so i dont know.....i'll take it apart and look at it today ... thanks guys
how many washers are there supposed to be???? i only see one black plastic washer with a blue ring inside of it....also which way do you put it on because both ways fit ??
