I have a flowmaster 40 Series Delta Flow muffler on my car and I love it. It sounds very deep and aggressive. I'm probably going to make a sound clip of it when it gets warmer out.

I got it about 3 years ago from an exhaust shop. At the time I had a custom 2.5" b-pipe made for me and the muffler was added in the deal. I then later got rid of the b-pipe and just bought a budget b-pipe w/resonator. They sell these mufflers on ebay though for pretty cheap. The muffler is holding up pretty well. There's a little rust around the welds but nothing bad. If you do go with the flowmaster, I suggest getting a resonated b-pipe or you can just keep your stock resonator on there.

That flowmaster will fit the stock b right? I'm hoping to do the flowmaster with new y-pipe and cat converter in the next couple months (sometime in the summer). Hoping for a nice sound.

One question: Is the magnaflow better than the flowmaster?

I might be getting a custom dual exhuast. Some places around me do some custom work so I'm gonna talk to them and see if they can do dual from cat-back then put mufflers on. Custom should actually run me close to what the greddy sp2 runs for. So I'm hoping that works out.

Like I said before, just make sure the b-pipe has a resonator.

It's called Laminar and Turbulent Flow and it probably has something to do with resonance.

I've got a Magnaflow dual tip muffler on my 5speed I30t...it sounds SWEET specially after the car warms up...but, with 2 or more people inside the car the droaning starts to take over, specially on up hill climbs. Otherwise it sounds very deep and rumbles the floor when I rev it. I've got a Y pipe too with a resonator of course.

i like the flowmasters, but ive heard REALLY good things about magnaflow street series mufflers. they also have them with so many different styles of tips. this summer im gonna get rid of my ebay cheap thing, and get a magnaflow hooked up to my stock b-pipe and resonator. is it true that a single wall tip is louder than a dual wall tip? ive heard this before.

I've heard good things about both. I'm gonna look online to try to find a discount or something and decide betweeen magnaflow or flowmaster.

i like the look of the 5x8 oval magnaflow mufflers, and id like to get a dual tip. would that fit on a 98 GXE with a stock rear bumper? it would be cool if it did. also, if anybody wants to hear my cheap ebay muffler, im gonna try and post a sound/video clip today in the Exhaust Clip Compilation.

I also have a 40 Series Flowmaster on my 96. As others have said, a deep mellow tone with a little boominess at about 2500 to 2800 RPMs, then it quits down. I barley hear mine when cruising at 70 or above, so I love it. I get a little tone, and still get a nice quiet cabin at highway speeds. It was installed at a local shop here in Raleigh for $200 even and was attached to the stock system. A regular chrome tip was added, and mine fits closer to the bumper valance.
