now i ve heard of the quiet mufflers out there. if i do a full catback can i keep the stock muffler and still get the same power or should i get an aftermarket muffler? also there are full catbacks with catalytic converters correct?

Really? I didn't know that... Maybe by about a 1/2 whp. I have headers on my 03 and stock cat back.... still have decent #'s, mearly the same as people with all my mods and cat-back.

It's an option, but most kits do not 'come' with a cat.

Yes you can keep the stock muffler, thats the setup I have now. Y-b-and stock muffler. Same power as with aftermarker muffler, just quieter

b-pipe analysis yielded a pretty good gain on http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php

I would keep the stock muffler and get a nicer tip to clean up the look.

Any upgrade to help the exhaust breathe better is a good thing. The y pipe will work fine but it was to my knowledge that you will get the full potential out of the y pipe by adding a catback. Also you could do a high flow converter like a catco.

so about how much power do you think i gained by doing the Y and puttin in a striaght cat (test pipe) and performance muffler? its really loud and im thinking of putting my cat back on just to quiet her down a bit. like they say the Y=10-15 and the muffler is prob like 5, and the pipe said 20, but what do you think the overall combo could be around?

15.8 before the y-pipe and 15.4 after. Its the best mod I've done to my car so far.

Muffler is not 5, muffler is less than 1
And test pipe give nothing but noise, lots of people who have had them switched them back out for cats

Is Custom B Pipe a customized b pipe from the shop or Custom is the company name or what. I see Ceasars Chariot and RussianMax415 both have them and their exhaust sounds better than anything else I have heard. Where can I get say a Straight Pipe or Custom 2.5 Pipe.

Whatever you do, dont put a test pipe. That thing makes your exhaust smell like $hit
