MAF code after starter change

Had a mechanic change out my starter. In the process he drove the car around the block and told me my car is old and it keeps stalling.

Told him everything was fine before so we looked under the hood and the MAF plug was on but not pushed in all the way.

Of course, the Service Engine Soon light is on. I hooked up my OBD II reader and it spit out P0100 which is is the MAF according to my FSM. I reset the bugger but it keeps on lighting on.

Any thoughts? Can a MAF be damanged this way?

thanks dudes.

You never mentioned if you corrected the problem, (Hint: put MAF back in correctly, and make sure it's plugged in)

If that doesn't solve your problem, then obviously you need a new MAF.

I did a double check it and the MAF did correct itself when I seated it in properly. The mechanic also forgot to plug in my Air Intake Temp sensor as well. That was tripping the 0401 code and 0304 my knock sensor came up.

Thanks .

First off, you need to find another mechanic to work on your car.
Second, are you sure you cleared the codes correctly? Double check the MAF plug, make sure the pins are not bent and the plug is clean. Clear the code again and see if it stays away.
