edit: that neon youre laughing at will show up most cars on the road today. as someone stated earlier, its the fastest production FWD car... probably ever(someone correct me if im wrong here). deffinatly one of, if not the fastest FWD car on the market right now.

 

maybe if u purchase those ebay tornado kit u can beat EVO and SRT-4!!!

uh, drop a 3.5 in and a totally stripped interior... might help. with 190 stock you aren't going to get that much more with bolt ons alone. maybe 40-50 if you're lucky? However the 3.5 has 250-265 i think?? Much better platform to work off.

 

ok guys the srt-4's aren't as fast as advertised. hell in my 2000 with a WAI, ypipe and catback i hung with one from a 20 roll. yes i'm a 5 speed and an auto wouldn't have a chance. now with my 75 shot i have taken out two SRT4 stage 2's and a bunch of other decently modded ones. the only one that i've lost to was one that had bigger fmic, exhaust cut out, more boost, and a 75 shot nitrous. he hit the nitrous half way through second gear because i started walking him.
by the way the evo's aren't a top end car, the reason they run in the 13's from the factory is because they are AWD. that's it. i have run into a few from a roll and they couldn't touch me. from a stop they would kick my *** but not from a roll. but that's just my .02

 

I had a 05 SRT-4 and i raced the max i have now and ummm can uyou say whoopin dat *** lol but like stated above totally different class but you can have a max beat them throw in about 20k into the engine and you can put them to shame

 

Dude, SRTs and Evos can trap faster than your nitrous trap speed while they are stock...

 

I hope thats figurative speech. I am really hoping that a turbo maxima can hang with the srt4 and an evo from a roll(eliminating traction problems). The srt4 is pretty fast, i raced one from school with my old VE auto but he dint eat me up like i thought he would because i think he had about 31/2 cars on me. The srt4 looked stock too because he had dealer plates on.

celica gts would be a good match up, but i think you would be very disappointed with the results racing an srt-4. As for as racing an Evo 8, that would be down right shameful. Low 13 second car stock, prepare to be punished, owned, conquered, crushed, hammered, and dunked !

 

even my sold 04 stock wrx could mutilate the max..stock for stock..maximas aren't really for racing imo..looks/comfort/easy maintanance..

common sense and 45 seconds of research will tell u that the maxima wont keep up with the SRT-4, much less the EVO without major mods.

But first off, the maxima is in a totally different class then an EVO or a SRT4. Both of them are turbocharged. The EVO is awd also. within my 5 min search in dug up these numbers which might help answer your question..

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII
Horsepower: 271 hp
Torque: 273 ft-lbs
0-60 mph: 5.3 sec

Dodge SRT4
Horsepower: 225 hp
Torque: 240 ft-lbs
0-60 mph: 5.6 sec

4th Gen Maxima SE
Horsepower: 190 hp
Torque: 205 ft-lbs
0-60 mph: 7.1 sec

humm.. with that said maybe you can come to a conclusion. N/A the max wont touch a EVO. i have a ypipe, exhaust, and mevi and hung fairly well with a stock srt4. but besides that, you will need F/I to hang with an evo or a modded srt4.

 

The fact is, it is still a "NEON" and a turbocharged econobox with roll down windows in the rear ROFL! Have some class my friend Yes it is still fast little rocket but just not worth comparing against a Maxima obviously due to it class and lack of class in other areas too. It like comparing the Max to an M5 or 6 or lambo (opposite situation).

If you dont like your max feel free to donate it to some other member who would apreicate a maxima more than you and go buy your little rocket neon and have fun!

my god...ppl SRT/4 runs consistent 13.9.....if you can't run better then 13.9 don't say you can hang with them or beat them....running 15's and running 13's is a very big difference....13.9 13.9 13.9 13.9!!!!!!!!

anyways like everyone is saying, your only sure bet for hanging with a SRT-4 or EVO is to ethier BUY ONE, GET BOOSTED, OR be the man (like Ceaser) and be a bad *** driver with all the na bolt ons.

 

^ ha ! i can hang with some srt-4's and lost to plenty as well (stock) but once they put a mod on here and there, its lights out for me!

It seems most SRT-4 drivers suck (I've seen so many run mid to low 14's stock, it's not even funny) but from a roll it's all about trap speed. And they can do 101-103 stock.

yup, if you wanted to know what a max with 00vi and y-pipe would do in the 1/4 mile, you couldve looked in the 1/4 mile racing forum, or if you wanted to know what numbers they put down, you couldve went to the dyno discussion forum.

Yeah its all about the driver and the tune of the car. I walked some old guy in his s2000 because 1. he couldn't drive and 2. his clutch seemed to be slipping like crazy. There was something major wrong with that car, lots of bad noises lol. So you CAN beat an SRT-4 if he is running low octane gas, doesn't know how to shift and has a bad clutch, it could be possible but not likely. Like I said get a 3.5 if you wanna eventually hang with these kind of cars. Lock this thread already!

Only in threads that are totally ridiculous, but usually I just refrain from posting in them (or don't even look at them if the title indicates it's a stupid thread). So if you're mostly reading the totally ridiculous threads I can see how you might think that. Look at some quality threads that aren't about lambo doors, et cetera though and your opinion would probably change.

 

u have three options here.
1) get every bolt on ever added to a 3.0 max and then gut ur car seriously and hope to god u get a superior launch and a bad srt/evo driver
2) drop in a 3.5 and tune that and drive the heck out of it since u would be around the lower-middle half or srt/evo speeds.
3) go boost with either the assistance of 1 or 2 and stay away form mildly modded versions of either car (srt/evo) since they still could put a hurting on even the fastest max

 

there isnt much class in a nissan....i have cloth inside my car just like they do but a srt-4 will do many things my car can not

i dont care which one of these cars is faster would u rather have a srt neon or a maxima, think about it, a neon, its a dodge
