engine not turning over

well yest. i painted my rear calipers and today when i go to start it, the engine would not start. The starter kept spining i could hear it, but i could not get the engine to start. Every time i gave it gas it would rev up a lil but too maybe 200-300 rpms and then die. My CEL has been on 4 the last week but its been starting good all week. One other thing which i noticed when i had the rear end jacked up doin my calipers, was that my exhaust is broken. The flange about 10in behind the muffler is completely rusted and the two pipes are not connected. Could that be my problem or is that completely irrelevant? I would really appreciate your guys help.

exhaust is 100% irrelevant. Pull your codes from the ECU. Refer to the stickies on how to do that (It is so simple that even my 6 year old brother could do it). Good Luck

i have one code ...P1130 ( Swirl Control Valve Control Solenoid Valve) which has come on be4, and its nothing that prevents the car from starting. The problem is something with the fuel system but i cant narrow it down. Nor do i have the time...Sucks. It could be somehting as simple as the fuel filter but i dont know.

4th gens dont have that code that on the 5th gen and up. So it has to be a different code. Try pulling the codes from the ECU and report back
