if ur not going to be putting down tons of power there is no reason to run anything but a stock clutch.....the 5th gen is a nice upgrade with good stock easy feel with a but more clamping power

Get a clutchnet. I have one and it's tight. They're on group deal right now!

for the 5th gen clutch (I have it right now, and it feels great...)
T/O 30502-41U20
pressure plate 30210-89F00
Disk C0100 - 6E600
Buy it online $180 or so.
I ordered mine form the nissan dealer in NY, got mine house 5 days later. (NH)

There is no need to spend alot of money on a ACT clutch, the the 5th gen will give you what you need.

okay lsiten the most common upgrade for the max clutch wize is an exedy S1, I've had the 5th Gen. clutch and it was nice but as far as clamping power it still slips on redline shifts... so i mean wtf are you gonna do go with the clutch that catches better, still an easy feel mind you. or the 5th gen more clamping power but really not that much better than a 4th gen clutch... plus the 5th gen. gives some ppl some trouble at first with a low friction point. Exedy FTW. you have the knowledge, now go do it.

... and enough with the ppl promoting the ACT and spec clutches, they suck almost as bad as centerforce series clutches. some are good some are bad and maximas have a traditionally weak tranny esp. when your upping clamp rates so keep that in mind.

A stock clutch should not be slipping at all on any shifts in a normal bolt on maxima unless something is wrong. I had a stock clutch in my previous 4th gen and it had about 280 1/4 mile passes on it about 150 of those dumped at 5500rpm on slicks, about 500 laps on the road course and the thing didn't slip once on me. It was still going strong the day the car was totalled 4 years after it's initial installation. Something was wrong if your clutch was slipping, either it was worn, out of adjustment, etc. For a bolton car you don't need anything more than a stock clutch.

ACT makes high quality clutches. Exedy does as well. Spec clutches I have heard tons of bad things about, their quality control is for the birds. I've seen personally 3 of them fail in cars of guys I know, one of them was a catastrophic failure which totalled the car when the clutch disk exploded, dude was lucky he didn't lose his feet actually. I wouldn't touch a spec clutch with a ten foot pole.

Yea I agree I was confusing the ACT clutches with Daikin, sry about that... My clutch doesnt slip in the traditional sense I just mean it doesnt feel as if it bites in at redline unless you let it out quite fast. So I have a question at redline should I be pushing down asap and letting it out asap?.. Cause lately i push it down fast bit in fear of burning out another clutch that cost $600 to put in I let it out too slow perhaps...

Question directed at Nealoc, but others please give opinions.

I always press and release the clutch as fast as possible. If your clutch is slipping though this might not the the best idea.

Those prices on the ClutchNet group deal are very good. I paid well over $400 for my CN PP and disk a year ago.

thanks yea today I had it up to 120 racing around with my friend and his G35 and I was stomping it to the floor as fast as possible and let it out asap and no clutch smell so I'm guessing I was doing alright. Man that G35 is fast, but seriously no kidding in 4th and 5th he was about 75 yards away pulling hard when it seemed like his car and my car were accelerating dead even it was strange but made me feel good. Plus all I have is an PRCAI and a Y-pipe while he has full stillen exhaust and ram air. anyways sorry it was off subject but I got home and I said to myself you made me proud... later
