Is there any writeups out there on how to repair key marks in paint?

I hear I can use touch up paint, then wet sand. What grit sand paper to use? What other techniques to follow?

have you tried polishin compounds yet? looks like that would buff em right out.

ps. sterling mist touch up aint worth a penny. i used it on my lip and it was totally a different color.

if you can stick ur nail in it...its not buffable.

I already tried polishing compounds and it didn't do much. These scratches you can definitely stick your nail into.

Fill in the scratch with touch-up. Wet sand down (1,500-2,000 grit). Rubbing compound or scratch remover to remove the haze. Polish/wax.

You could always try using scratch remover first but bets are that you'll want to do the above. I used it on a friend's Benz the colour didn't match (metallic) but had it matched would've looked perfect.

do the touch up and wet sand about 3 inchs out from each side of the scrath. Then let it sit for about 2hours before you take a rubbing compund to it perferably 3m. the more you rub the better. Then try and get a buffer and buff the area with a glaze/polish. The scratches from the wet sanding will go away with the more rubbing you do, if you dont fill the scrath with the touch up paint and then wet sand the paint will be uneven and you will be able to see the scrath no matter what you do.
