NGK Iridium
I have NGK Iridiums in my parts maxima, i'm thinking of using the slighty used Iridiums over my fairly new Champion Coppers in my daily driver...i replaced my NGK coppers because they were black as night.
If they're much better, i'll just use the iridiums.

I have NGK Iridiums in my 96. It did idle a bit smoother when I put them in but then again my old plugs were shot. Didn't really notice anything as far as hp gains. Just ran smoother. Plus they are cheaper than the OEM platinum plugs.

Not to threadjack, but where is the link to search this site for info? Also, I can't start a new thread. Why? Thanks.

Iridium plugs, pound for pound, are a better value than a platinum plug of similar design. Iridium is a precious metal that has seen use in sparkplugs for some time now; however, the technonolgy used to bond iridium to a spark plug electrode in mass production has only recently become economical.
In a nutshell, iridium conducts a charge more efficiently than platinum; less iridium needs to be used compared to platinum, meaning the electrode tip is significantly smaller. Although iridium is a more expensive material than platinum, the iridium plug is cheaper because such little iridium material is used.
Take your pic - if you're a die-hard platinum user, you're not missing anything with iridiums. However, if you want to "save" a few dollars go with the iridiums. Iridiums will see wide-spread usage in the next few years (I think). Do they "perform" better? I don't believe the effect is substantial. Are they more economical compared to a platinum? Yes.
