I was wondering what you guys think of how the 4th gen looks with the side bumpers taken off. I was just curious so i photoshoped it.

and here's the original car

has anyone ever actually removed the side bumper thingy on the doors?
I dont think i'd do it though. I just got to thinking about it.

There are holes if you do happen to remove it. IMO of course it looks better without it but it doesnt look bad with them on either.

Interesting...especially since mine is white too so it gives me a better idea I think it looks alright but for some reason I think I prefer leaving it alone...breaks up the large expanse of sheetmetal a bit. If you had a bodykit I think removing it may look better.

you are going to have to use filler because there are holes and a groove as well. it looks nice especially on that orange maxima but it doesnt look ugly with them on. if you dont like yours, you could go and get the 2k2 side moldings and put them on. thats what i have.

I'd definitely prefer to leave it on. Cars without them are, of course, subject to door dings, but my main reason is aesthetic. Cars without the side moldings have that "large expanse of sheetmetal," which makes the car look taller and thus, less sleek.

Yeah!
And if the part below the line is painted a contrasting colour it looks even better. I once did a two-tone job like that on an MGC, it looked great.

I agree, I'd keep it. doors look huge without it.

with no aftermarket side skirt. . . dont do it, the car will just look weird . . . especially with the wholes that will be left behind.
