When did most of you change the O2 sensors

at what mileage did most of you had to change the O2 sensors? Which brand is the best to use to replace 02 sensors, keeping in mind the budget and quality.

Change them when they throw a code, not worth changing them when they are still good.

O2 sensors i have heard are suposed to be replaced every 100K miles or so. That is the average life span. I have yet to change mine, but i from what i have been told, they can stop working like "new" and loose efficiency over time, even before they throw a CEL. If you feel like you should change em, change em....dont wait for the CEL, not like it matters, but 02 sensors effect alota things that we value in our maximas like fuel mileage and power, etc....

just my .02

Nothing really, a possible loss of some power. But the car will run just fine.

You'll probably lose some gas mileage.

gas mileage and power in most cases will be a result of bad O2 sensor(s)

Hey Me Too- for like the last 30k and I'm at 106k now. At first I would delete the codes w/ my handy OBD II scanner but the Rear o2 consistently set off my CEL every 10k miles...it got real annoying. Fortunately, I consistently get 3 lovely codes simultanously: Rear O2, knock and misfire...lol. When its inspection time, I dump some fuel additive in the tank and for some strange reason, the O2 sensor (knock/misfire) doesn't set off the CEL for a good 10k! What the hey! Maybe this summer I'll fix it...just maybe.

will having a faulty 02 sensor make me have starting issues ( not necessary that when it's cold out, but simply when the engine is cold)????

Thanks

Replaced all three with Bosch at 118K. Afterwards, I probably went from 18mpg city to almost 20.

did they increase your MPG? my car has 134000 i bought it with 127000 i dunno if they have ever been changed. would changing them increase my MPG??? it seems like it has been bad lately. the check engine light has never been on.

sorry, im dumb this is a newbieish question: If you check engine light is not on, could you still be throwing a code??? also, how do you tell what the code number is? take it to a shop???

I did

When I got my car I thought maximas had the worst gas mileage ever till my first meeting with the SES light. Went from 13 mpg to 22 mpg. The first one went at 123k and the second front one went at 140k. Replaced both with walker oem's (they come with new ties and anti-sieze). They're easy to replace even with my rusted out exhaust system.

Yes, it's called a ghost code, go to Autozone to check it for free!

I threw the 0303 also at ~95000 but I waited a few weeks to do it and my gas mileage was horrible until I changed it, like 12-13 mpg. Got a Bosch for ~$50 from Autozone, not too difficult DIY.
