hey guys
i need to take off the exterior door handles. how should i go about getting to them. im doing this because my friend needs a project to do for school and i told him he can paint my handles white. i wan to do this because right now they r silver and they look ugly and i wanted them white to look like the SE maximas

Its pretty simple, you need to remove the inner door panel and then you will see to nuts holding the door handle onto the frame, remove those and detach the metal pole thing that actuates the latch and you're golden.

P.S. haynes manual will help you, it contains all this info.

 

what about the rear doors? same thing?

 

I haven't done the rears, so I guess I couldn't say for sure but I would assume they are very similar.

The fronts arent too bad, but the rears are a real paint. There setup like the fronts but the nuts that hold the handles on are real hard to get to. The space is very tight.
i did this a while back, I swapped my white/chrome handles for all white.
