A different Starting Issue

Last few mornings I went to start my car and its a very slloowww crank and stumbles to start. Then i let off the key and try and start it again and it finally turns over and stumbles till it finally catches. Very strange. The last time it did this was like 2 weeks ago and I got a code for the crank sensor reference, the one by the crank pulley, underneath. I reset the code and it just started doing it again with no code.

It only really does it in the morning.

Anyone else have this problem ?

That's what my old starter did. In the mornings it would be a weak cranker but better when it was warm. When I took it out and tried to spin the gear with my hand it barely moved. Also like you said it could be the crank sensor. Take it out and clean it. It is a magnet so maybe some dirt go on it.

The starter is about three to four years old. I think its something different. It ONLY does this the first time I start the car in the morning

i ran through the same checks on my car like that one guy says pull out the pos and the ref crank sensors and clean them if you need them their like 60-90 dollars or so and you'll prolly have to order them if you go to a common autoparts store. i replaced my starter lately like the other guy said and that was my problem let me know if you fixed it yet
