Axxis brake pads

Anyone use Axxis brake pads with good results? How do they perform, dust, any squeal problems? I need to replace all 4 sets of pads, along with Brembo rotors that I've ordered. Any feedback would be appreciated.

1) the brake dust is horrible
2) they squeak a lot
3) they eat rotors for lunch

I had them, and will never ever put them back on my car. They were great at stoping the car, but there were too many side effects.

Hi Dubbya....what kind of pads did you use? The MM, Ultimates, or Deluxe?

Axxis ultimates are good pads on CDS rotors, I love them. No signs of wear or cracks on my CDS rotors, about two years old. They stop ten times better than oem pads IMO. Dusting is not any more of a problem than with oem pads and they don't squeak or make any noise on my I30. For $80 bucks I would get them again if needed check the group deal forum. Hawk pads are supposed to be really good as well, check them out if you don't want axxis.

If you enjoy a ton of brake dust and squeaky brakes, then the axxis ultimates are for you.

I have no noise at all.....and the dust is not a problem. I wash my car about once a week and the dust is easy to wash off even with BBS wheels. It is all about breaking them in properly and maintaining your calipers to function together. Maintence with brakes is key to making them last as long as possible.

I also have the MM's and no problems with them either. Brake dust is there but wipes off easily so not really a problem, and they stop considerably better than the my old pads.

Had them once in the past, they bite real hard. The three things I hated about them were Dust, Noise, and they destroyed the stock rotors. HAWK FTW!!

I'm under the impression that you fellas are referring to the MM and Ultimate pads.......any using the Deluxe pads have and good/bad feedback? I'm weighing my decision to order them on you guys. If I hear that they suck, I'll just continue using oem pads.

I had Metal Masters on my 3 previous car and they were awesome...a little dusty but reasonably..then I bought a MAx and I was told to put some ceramic brake pads because the car was heavyer than previous one and I needed to put more grab on the pads....GET THE H*** AWAY FROM THE CERAMIC BRAKE PADS!!!! They dust like he** and they squeaks all the time even after washing brakes just like if you threw some sand in it!!! also, they are not braking as hard as the metal master will do.... my ceramic pads are news from last summer and be sure that I'm changing them for metal master when the snow will go...

good luck!

I currently have the ultimates...man they freakin DUST like no tomorrow!! not to mention the squealing is out of control as well!! jeez its not even funny how bad these brake pads are....POS $40 pads....stopping power is great tho...thats about it...

I previously had the metal masters as well...this was my old 4th gen tho....they still squealed and dusted like a ****...wtf?

so far, MM and Ultimates are a no no....i do have the Deluxe Plus sitting in my room waiting for spring installation...I will report if there are any problems with that...if it squeals and dusts with those pads too, I'm never ever going to touch Axxis pads ever again!

If your having squeeking problems it is not the ultimates, mine make no noise at all warm or cold. I would check your calipers maximas and I30s are known for having caliper problems from sticking, locking up, not engaging properly.
If you don't have any caliper problems I would resurafce them and reinstall them, and brake them in as they were new.

so you're sayin 90% of all ultimate owners didn't break them in properly or have some sort of caliper problem? cuz pretty much everybody i spoke to have squealing with the axxis ULT

All I am saying is that mine are perfect, no noise at all, on CDS rotors. The place I bought them from said not to use oem rotors. They were not tested with oem rotors and will not perform the same. It is all in how you take care of your braking system, maintence is key. I can't speak for others just myself.

I don’t think ceramics are bad at all. I have Raybestos ceramic Quietstops. They are indeed quiet and I don’t think they dust too heavily.

I'm wondering if the Deluxe Plus pads perform just as well, if not better than oem, with no noise and dust less. All brake pads will dust, its inevitable.....

I currently have Axxis Ultimates on all 4. They do dust, mine don't squeal that much or at all, BUT they do bite really hard and I think they do reduce braking distances and increase braking confidence. I used to have the Metal Masters....they worked fine once they warmed up but when they were cold, they didn't have the best bite. They dusted too. The Ultimates dust a good deal, but it's farily easy to wash/wipe off. I'm on my 2nd set of Ultimates. Definitely my favorite set of pads so far on my Max. I've tried Raybestos, Performance Friction Carbon Metallics (those sucked!), OEM, Axxis Metal Masters, and Axxis Ultimates....so far the Ultimates are my favorite. Hope this helps!
