Removed woodgrain....... and lost Auto/AC button

Hello. Idiot lesson 101 today. get ready for this...............

Well I removed the woodgrain from my dash.

I used paper towels with Goof-off cleaner, then i rubbed way to hard.
Its a 98 Max w/AutoClimate Controls.

That AUTO button nxt to the Economy & Off button... Yeah that AUTO Button is CLEAR Now.... doesnt say AUTO now.
Now i have the whole light showing through that area b/c the Goof-off stuff rubbed the black Off.

Aint that just great....!!!!!! Now i need that 1-single AUTO button & Hours to rip apart the Climate control to install it.....

ANYONE GOT AN EXTRA BUTTON?.....

yes, this is the 98 ive had for 2weeks.... funny how $hit always happens....

I took mine off by just pulling it off and rolling off the glue. Then I took a really fine stealwool and scuffed off the marks that the glue left. Can't even tell that it ever had wood grain on it.

Just get a junkyard climate control or fleabay one, that sucks I wouldn't be able to laugh that off. It says on the back "Damages many plastics" and "rub lightly" so be careful and read the back of the can(s) in the future.

you can buy the button at the dealer. do a search for the part number in the AMB button write up.

I was thinking a dealer would have the part, im really hoping i dont have to take it all the way apart just to replace the 1 button...

I guess i should be asking someone that has done the LED-mod and see if its Necessary..
