changed knock sensor

changed knock sensor

i just changed my knock sensor.. however did not reset the ecu.... went to autozone and bad knock sensor code still came on.... is this normal or shoudve the code disapear w/o reseting the ecu?

I heard you have to drive like 200miles or so for the code to go away. But faster if you just reset it yourself.

Replace the knock sensor again that should help.

i unplugged the battery before doing the repair. removed the old, replaced the new.

dont forget to clean the ground wire that connects to the engine. dont forget to not tighten it to tight.

i plugged my battery back in and it worked fine, no more code.

reset the ecu if yours is messing up and then it should work fine.... assuming there isnt something else wrong... use a multimeter to test the actuall wire - this will let you know if somethings wrong with something else.

You have to reset the ECU to clear the code for a clean start.
