in-cabin air filter

In the stickies I've found: http://www.greghome.com/Greg's%20Garage/2002MaxSE/In-Cabin%20Microfilter%20Change.htm

But I am only seeing info about 5th gens, any reason why this is posted in the 4th gens section? I was going to try to clean it out but now I'm not even sure that my car has the filter... Any help is appreciated

Hi everybody,

One of the reasons I first found this site was because I wanted to replace the cabin/pollen filter on my 4th gen Maxima...yes 4th gen! It has the label inside the glovebox and everything. Actually, coming on this site first of all made me question if the label was a joke, but since I had managed to order the parts, the site then turned out - just this once- to be particularly unhelpful! Couldn't quite see where to fit it! So to cut a long story short, and if anyone out there, like me, has a non-American model (well, unlikely, since between the UK and France I've only ever seen one other Maxima), it's quite simple (similar to 5th gen instructions I believe):
- empty glove box
- unscrew the catch
- unscrew the four screws holding in the glovebox
- give it a short sharp tug (mind the glovebox light cable)
- you can't miss it...well them because it comes in two parts.

No need to attempt to attempt to unscrew anything at random under the dashboard like I did.

To be more precise, I have a UK RHD model. Euro versions could be different still? Who knows... who cares?

Thank you for caring, 1992maximase30!

Well the site I bought the filter from says it fits A32 (1995 to 1999) and A33 models.

And another thing, given that the car comes from England, and I ordered the parts in France, it seems likely to be applicable to European models.

99 SE-L is the so called 99.5 so NmexMAX seems to be mistaken then. My 99 SE doesn't have the incabin air filter.
