Yeah, what exactly is that, and what kind of gains are expected, or is this simply a weight reduction maneuver?

it's a 350z intake manifold (upper, mid, and lower). It's a direct bolt on to the 3.5 i'm putting in my car. it should give gains all throughout the powerband, but it's hard to say, because no one's ever dynoed on one of these on a 4th gen before.

And MDeezy, i'm gonna run with the 5/16" plenum spacer as well. I'm going to cut my hood and put either a scoop or a bulge in its place.

Should be a good summer.

Just cut a hole and leave the manifold sticking out like an old school super charger, but not nearly as cool looking.

Damn you...I thought you were installing in the summer? Ahh well, keep us posted on your 3.5 progress.

Did you decide that the 3.5 swap was easier than getting that spark plug boot out... (I've been off the .org for a couple of days...I don't know if you resovled that, and I know you've been planning on that for a while.)

That was my plan when I get my 5/16 spacer!

I know this setup hasnt been dynoed yet, but the gains are definitely there. Dropping the pedal at the on-ramp and hitting 130mph in no time is good enough of a butt dyno to me!!

I'm doing it vsamoylov's way, because it's the cheaper alternative, (i'm gonna wrap the intake tubing with heat wrap so it doesnt get AS hot), and maybe cut a hole in the fender to let in more cool air.

if i did it your way and got the spacer, i would still have to cut the hood.

I'll look at the dyno #'s, and if you're ahead by alot, i'll consider doing it your way...

What i really want, thought, is the 300hp plenum, I can definitely see some gains there. What is is called, the MREV?

By the way, what clutch did you use for your swap? I'm leaning towards an exedy stage 2.

Not unless you have the cams and intake/exhaust vtcs to back it up. If you look at Motordyne's MREV kit for the 300hp engine, it replaces the lower plenum with the 287hp version.

The upper plenum and LIM are the same on both engines.
You are better off with the 03-05 "regular" lower plenum.
