4th gens weigh quite a bit less but also have a quite a bit less power/torque than a stock 350Z.

BTW - in NZ the 6th gen Max only gets 228bhp/245ft-lbs and the 350Z 276bhp/267ft-lbs - both quite a bit weaker than the US stock spec I think.

How a stock maxima stand against stock 2000 v6 accord coupe?
There a dude that i kno own a 2000 automatic V6 accord coupe , w/ tanabe dual exhaust system and intake, smoke a G35(stock) by a car length. Unbelieveable huh? I saw it myself, on the high way, but i was sitting on the 350z (stock, automatic). But the Z smoke him by 1 to 2 car.
But am just wondering if our family sedan can beat the Accord V6 with few mods?

Now it's gonna take a very nicely modded NA 4th gen to consistantly be able to beat a stock 6spd 350z. Y-pipe, VIM, ECU, light weight rims, and a good driver will give some stock 350's a run for their money from time to time.

There is always gonna be a few 350z's out there with a horrible driver and maybe 200lb of stero equipment getting owned by 4th gen bolt on maxima's. But that is gonna be the exception, not the rule.

In general I would put my money on a stock 6 spd 350z against a bolt on 3.0 Maxima any day.

And I don't want some of you fools comming in hear and saying....But Nealoc187 ran a 13.4 in his bolt on 3.0!!!!!.....Than means nothing, a handfull of fast bolt on 3.0's will get a win here and there but doesn't change the general rule.
Amen.

Right, I'm assuming his use of the word "literary" was a typo and I'm assuming you're joking in bringing this up?

This thread is messed up.

A stock 4th maxima is not faster than a stock Z by a long shot

A 3.0 4th gen with all the discussed bolt on's would give alot stock Z's a run for their money.

A basic 3.5 4th gen would probably edge out alot of stock Z's

A turbo max with any more than 5 psi should walk a stock Z

So can we just stop this now?
...and /thread.

Then I don't understand what you were trying to say. The adjective "literary" makes no sense in that context, hence it is clear to me he meant to use the adverb "literally" and my point stands. What are you smoking?

my friend had his stock and i ran him with ypipe intake and catback including sound system. i was next to him until the end of 2nd and when he hit 3rd, he pulled on me, slowly, but sure pulled away. no way i was able to beat him.
im guessing him and i same driving experience....well...i do weigh more though.

eitherway, it is going to be very very hard to beat one, unless he is a bad driver.

I know I'm a noob but I just got a 99 Maxima SE- 5 speed....I dont think a 4th gen Maxima stands a chance with the 350z unless the driver really just doesnt know how to shift on every gear. I see 350z run 13.9 all day at the track with just an intake but I guess thats with a good driver.

A 350Z is a much better car to start with if your going to race, try getting a maxima near 500 hp.
