Does anybody know which rims are lighter 15' stock metal or average fancy aluminum rims. What is the weight difference?

Of course the aluminum alloy rims are lighter (that's the point of owning them in the first place). How much lighter, I dunno. Not enough to feel a huge difference between 15" stockers or 15" alloys, probably.

well I dunno about of course. Most of the people I know simply put aluminum because they look cool. Also many people prefer bigger size that works to the detriment of the performance. That is what got me thinking if it is at all possible to justify 15 or 16 aluminum vs 15 metal and have them lighter (therefore better performance).

Well... it will depend on which brand of rims. I believe that the Nissan 15" maxima sport rims are alloy and the 16" is aluminum. The steel 15" rims w/tires wiegh in at about 38lbs.
