Need motor mount advice and prices

I found out from my mechanic that I need to replace all my motor mounts, he told me it would be $650 including labor and parts. I want to know if that is worth it and if there is a cheaper way out of this. If anyone could provide me with sources on where I can get the parts for the cheapest price I would appreciate it.

All my mounts have gone bad from what the mechanic told me? Does that mean I have to replace them or I could buy one of those mount inserts and put it on? I am completely a noob with these motor mount things.

Ha, well installing mounts requires lifting/ holding your engine in place, if your not up for moving your entire drivetrain for 4 mounts, go get a second opinion.

ES makes motor mounts for the maxima on Suspension.com. I just ordered mine. $80 for the fronts and back but they are inserts that push into your old mounts. They will be a bit stiffer then stock. Will result in a slightly harder idle.

Havent looked around yet. I figure any place will do it. Just have to cut a ring that goes around the mount and find a place that has a large enough press to press them in. Im really having a problem finding used mounts. Im really close to just buying new mounts from Nissan and tearing them apart.

Will these inserts work the same way if I replace it with a new mount besides the exception of a stiffer ride and harder idle? My engine is hoping like crazy when I step on the gas, makes me feel like I lost a lot of power. I just want to find a cheaper way to get out of this.

Buy New mounts from Nissan and have them installed...shouldnt be more than $200-$300 after labor.

They have low prices, and you can use them as a comparison if you want to go the non OEM route...

I went on the site and checked, if I need all four mounts it would add up to $382.60 just for parts. The next thing is that I noticed is that the front mount for a GXE is different from a SE or GLE, can anyone tell me whys that because I thought they are all VQ30DE motor and the engine layout should be the same. The price for the front mount for the GXE is around 70 dollars, and for the SE or GLE front mount its 150 dollars.

Your motor is probably rocking back and forth because your front and rear motor mount are shot. Do them and see how it feels. The Trans mount and the pass side mount dont do much for the rocking back and forth of the motor.
