--Fugly Wheel Swap?--

Anyone tried to swap a '97 Max steering wheel into a pre-'96 Max? IMO, the stock '95 steering wheel is fugly, somewhere on the level of the old 1st-gen Chrysler Airbag covers

The '97 wheel looks waaay cooler, so's I was wondering if its just plug and play or if it involved something more..( I have an SE with Cruise, so just get an SE wheel and play connectors , right?)

Yup. Seems like Nissan only equipped the SE with the sport steering wheel

....I thought they used the same wheel for all Maxes . The GLE kept the old steering wheel.

Search around a bit, it's been done a few times.

Someone even has an Altima steering wheel with working radio controls (I believe) and the heating element.

It can be done easily.
It's just that it can get expensive when you need to get the air bag and stuff too...
