1995 B-pipe to 98?
1995 B-pipe to 98?
Hey, I'm going to replace my b pipe on my 98 GLE, because it's rusted and bent. Can i swap in the one from my 95 parts car? It's brand new. I know the 95-96 and 97-98 exhausts are a bit different. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks,

I was going to do this for a local member with my 96 b pipe on his 98 max. The easiest way to do it if your front flange near the O2 sensor is ok to use from your pipe. If you cut it after the 02 sensor and weld or clamp the 96 bpipe on after the 02 sensor. You will have your 98 front with the o2 sensor and a couple inches after to clamp or weld your 96 to it. This way you can leave the 02 sensor installed cut after it and either clamp or weld you new one on and cut it where you need to so it fits. Hope this helps...should be the easiest way to do it as well.
it should fit, but it might sit in a bit from the bumper. I think the extra length on the 95-96s is from the axle back section so it should fit fine, if not, it will just sit about 2 inches closer to the car. you'll need a bolt to plug the o2 bung on the b pipe

95-96 B pipes are about 6" longer than 97-99 B pipes. 97-99 cars have an "S"pipe as they call it between the B pipe and the cat, which 95-96 cars don't have. This S pipe is where the O2 sensor is on 97-99, whereas on 95-96 the O2 sensor is actually in the cat.
You could make it work but it won't be a direct bolt on. If you remove the Spipe I think it would bolt right up, but then you have to figure out what to do with your O2 sensor which now no longer has a bung to go into...
Just get under both cars and look at where the bpipe and cat comes together and you will see what I mean.
