2 questions. Need some help

I have a 95 GXE from factory, I went to install power light sun visors. I can't find the wire for them. I would assume the car comes prewired with everything. I have wires for fogs but my car didnt come with fogs. So where Can i located this wire? Im pretty positive I don't have it.

Next question Door light issuses. There are many others that have this problem. Where the door lights dont work and its not a bulb or a fuse. Has anyone figured out what the hell is causing these door lights not to work?!

the visiors need to be tapped into your map light... your gxe isnt prewired for the lighted visors...

The door lights are the only ones that don't work? If your other lights don't work, such as your dome light, then it could be the BCM located behind your radio. If the door lights are the only ones malfunctioning, then it's most likely the window switch unit.

I have put in a new BCM, and got window switches from another org member. Now this may sound crazy but I have no idea of the odds of both of those items being messed up in any way. Thank you once again. I guess ill run wires this weekend for those visors. Is it simple? power and ground with the connector? Im guessing they work with the function of you opening up the plastic cover for the glass.

I had the same problem with my visors. I got some home link visors, and I did not have a plug to plug into, so I ran wires from my cig lighter, under the dash, up the pilar and in the the headliner. The only thing with this is that it is a switchable power source so you have to have the key on in order for the lights or the home link to work. Basically you can tap what ever power and ground source you want then you need to run the wires up in the head liner.

as for door light I am not sure what your problem is with those. I have some extra sockets I took out of my old door skins if you are interested in trying them. Just PM me if you are.

My problem with my door lights is:
They dont light up at all

Fuse is good, door sensors are good. Dome light works and functions 100% correct. I did try to install USED window switches. Still didnt work. I did install a 96 GLE BCM into my car still didn't work. Now im just out of things to guess here.

As for the visors, yeah it makes perfect sense to tap into power and just ground them to the roof frame of the car.

Yep, just any old +12 and gnd, and there is a built-in switch to the mirror cover that activates the lights.

Just making sure you replaced the BCM that is behind the CD Player. And I'm guessing yours had 3 connections... or 5? Did you replace it with one that had the same amount of connections?

No, Mine comes with only 3, 2 white 1 grey I believe. The 96 BCM I put in (Just to see if it will work) Had 3 in the back 2 in the front which looks like only 1 big slot. Im guessing wrong BCMs wont work unless its the right one for the car

Get the correct BCM. Get one with only 3 plugs. Let me see if someone is selling theirs so you can try it.

well, if it's any consolation, the BCM i sold you is from a 95, so it's the same year, and I'll cut off a length of the wire connected to the sun visors.

I pulled back the headliner, and its connected to the map light, and sunroof controls. i'll cut that whole harness for you, and hook you up with the ashtray light.
