axle assembly question

Hey guys,

I have a 1998 Nissan Maxima SE 5spd, The CV boot is ripped so I have no choice but to replace the whole assembly(It's been ripped for a bit, just havent had time to fix it). What I am wondering is, when I called Lordco to get a quote/order it they asked me if it had A.B.S, which it does, and whether its left or right driveshaft, then asked if it was a locking or non locking differential. I have no clue if its locking or non locking. It is a 5spd with abs and the LSD. if it helps the model id: BLHULVFA32ENACAFPK.

Thanks
Chris

i think locking and non locking transmission refers to limited slipping.

Yeah, Maximas do have 4x4 suspension but that doesn't mean they have actual locking differentials...

Anyone care to guess how many limited slip threads we've had in the last month?

Read people read. Read first ask questions later. This very topic has been brought up numerous times RECENTLY.

You answered your own question.

LSD = Limited Slip Differential = "Locking" differential.
